Spring Plant, Tree & Fungi Associates | Colorado Front Range | Ensō Farm & Forage
Ensō invites you to a morning in the field and into one of the most overlooked skills in foraging.
Tree identification changes everything. When you know which trees grow where, and which fungi and plants associate with them, you stop searching randomly and start reading the landscape with intention.
Join Orion Aon of Forage Colorado for an immersive eco-tour across the Colorado Front Range… moving through riparian corridors, foothills, and montane forest from 5,500 to 7,500 feet. Cottonwood bottoms to ponderosa slopes. Willow draws to mixed conifer zones. You will learn to identify the key trees of each habitat, understand their mycorrhizal and saprobic fungal partners, recognize associated edible and medicinal plants, and become a more efficient, more observant forager in every season.
This is the first in what will become a seasonal series — spring riparian, late summer montane sub-alpine, and beyond. Each outing is its own classroom.
